Of Driving Lessons and Insidious: Chapter 2

After I'm done with the first 6 hours long driving lesson, I asked my driving instructor to drop me at the nearest bus stop so I could go to KL Festival Mall. One, to check out TheFaceShop anniversary sale and two, to watch a movie in a cinema I never been to which is MBO.

When I arrived at the ticket counter, there's only one movie I want to see.
Yes, it's the "Insidious: Chapter 2".

I watched the first movie back in 2010 I think and whenever I recalled that movie, I get chills on my neck. It is that scary.

So when I watched this sequel today, it’s inevitable to have certain expectations and whatnot. Is it gonna be scarier, what kind of ghost this time around?

Basically, “Insidious: Chapter 2” picks up where the story ended, but to me the sequel has enough humours and scary scenes, and of course its own story to stand alone. If you haven’t watch the first movie, it’s okay. You won’t be clueless.

At the beginning of this movie, Patrick Wilson (as Josh Lambert) and Rose Byrne (as Renai Lambert) return as parents of three kids, who decided to move into a new home which is Josh’s mother’s, Lorraine Lambert (Barbara Hershey) house, after worrying and fearing their own house was haunted.

Dalton Lambert (Ty Simpkins), the eldest child who has recovered from a mysterious coma, but apparently he’s still haunted by nightmares. Not only that he sees dead people, those ghost want something from him.
In this movie, it has been revealed what Josh had gone through in his younger years as a haunted child.

Watching this part makes me recalled what I saw in “Inception”. I think this is first time for me to ever experience a supernatural time travel in a movie. Last time I saw this kinda thing is when Dean learned about how his parents met hence the Yellow-Eyed Demon complications, in Supernatural.

The ghost hunter, Carl (Steve Coulter) who collaborated with the ghost specialist Elise (Lin Shaye) that helped Josh back in his younger days, came to see Lorraine and hence the most disturbing (to me) series of events happened in the old mansion has begun. Why? Because one of the scenes in horror movies that I find really scary is when dark hallways are being explored with merely flashlight.

By the end of the movie, I came to understand the first movie more. I think it’s a nice feeling when the family is back together for real this time, with no crazy ghost around. But, like the first movie, “Insidious: Chapter 2” leaves us the viewers an open possibility. Whether is there are bigger story or will Elise, Specs and Tucker discovered another crazy ghost? We’ll see that in Chapter 3.

Rate: 3.5/5

Not So Alone in Tanah Semenanjung.

It was as planned that my big brother has finally been transferred to Labuan and hence my sis in-law and of course my beloved nephew, Adam Aizuddin.

After seven years living on this side of Malaysia, for the first time I have no other immediate family living near with me. T___________T

Of course, I have my uncle and aunts and the nearest one is living in Cheras, KL but then of course with my cousin who's gonna have SPM by the end of this year, plus both of them who're always working plus my busy schedule that won't allow me to go back and forth of their house within  day, it's seems impossible for me to visit them every other weekend. ...and I hate changing trains to begin with. Sigh.

Well, maybe I'm okay with it if I'm not too busy with 10 000 things. No kidding! Even right now I'm just taking a break from writing up design concepts, design development and whatnot...

But thank Allah cause I'm flying home next week for Eidul Adha. I'll have to sit down with my ESS 2 group mates and have discussion on our next assignments and go back with empty head. Though I won't be enjoyin much of the Eid (cause I don't eat meat, duh) but I'll definitely going to spend ample of time with my family. No architecture stuffs for merely 4 days should be more than enough.

Anyway, I should get back to work. Ugh! 2 and a half years of this should kill me.

kidding.

Until next time,

Wassalam.

Life is full of mystery.

Well, everybody knows that.

While I was hanging out with first year students, some of them were really surprised when I told them I once have a life in Kuantan.

To be honest, I don't really know what to say if people ask me questions like "Why are you in architecture?" or "since you already have experiences in Biomedical Science, why don't you choose a related course like health sciences, maybe?"

All I can say that things happen for reason and that's all. We plan things for the future but then who knows what Allah plans for us.

If I choose to go to Matriculation Labuan instead of CFS, IIUM, will I be in a different university right now?

Who knows what happen if I didn't change from Engineering back when I was in CFS? Will I be graduating with my friends last year?

What if I didn't choose to leave Kuantan, will I be with my best friend today?

So what I'm trying to say is, if you guys ever in a situation like me, when you had to choose different paths in life in the future, just one thing you guys need to remember.

Just focus on whatever you have in front of you.

Stop contemplating with the past. It's all gone now. You're here. In the present. What matter is your future.

So if you think you're not happy with what you're doing right now? Why wait?

The time is now. Do all things that can make you happy and close to what you believe in.

Typical First Week.

So I heard the Design Studio was postponed due to the First Year's bai'ah (Promise) session today. Ah, I remember when I took my oath. I was the only who's sitting while others are required to stand up. Haha That's another day's story.

So I just decided to clear out all my fees, with additional of RM12.50 to my hostel fee (Thank God we don't have to register our electrical appliances anymore!) and went to KAED Office to register the remaining 2 subjects. Then, I just head back to my mahallah and continue unpacking my stuffs.

That was on Monday. On Tuesday, I went to my Architectural Graphics studio and meet Dr. Zaiton who just got back from Rome after 2 years. Listening to her experiences is definitely making you wanna go there like now, now.

On Wednesday, I had my first Building Services 1 class, taught by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Raza. I'm definitely not happy with this, due to last semester's experience with History and Theory of Architecture 2. But then, all we can do is pray hard and study well, right?

Yesterday, I had my first Environmental Science and System 2 class, taught by our beloved newly-appointed Deputy Dean Academic Affair, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noor Aziah. Like before, ESS 2 is going to be amazing. She issued out the briefing for our assignments, that's need to be submitted after mid-sem break. Sigh~

As for today, we had the Design Studio session from the morning until lunch and continued from 2 to 4 p.m.. But only for today as starting next week, Friday's session will be only in the morning. First Minor Project has been issued and as for that, we gonna start with a group task. I'll post on that later. Oh, no session for this upcoming Monday. Cause it's holiday, baby! Hoyeah!

So, that's a wrap for this week. I'll see you guys on the next blogpost.
