University Breaks and Future Plans

Finally I'm done with examinations and right now I'm in the middle of packing for holiday! :D

New Year was celebrated in exam hall so I guess I'm gonna do some sort of delayed celebrations with family members at home. hehe

Anyway, I honestly don't really know what sort of things I'm going to do for this upcoming break as I'm still nervous about whether I survived my second attempt in Architectural Design 1 (studio) subject.

My parents already decided on our trips to Kuching, Sarawak for about a week I think 2 days after I'm back in KK later and of course we're gonna go to visit my bro and our lil' Adam so that's included.

other than that, I'm pretty sure my schedule is opened without anything to do during the break.

I'm thinking of taking some sort of photography class but I have no damn clue where I should be going for it. Sigh.

Future plans.

Like I said above, whether I'm going to survived firs or not is still I'm unsure about but right now I have 2 options.

If I really did survived the subject, I guess proceeding to Design 2 will be hassle-free and I'll be sticking to my current study plans.

but if I didn't... I guess it's time to wake up and find a new path. it's been almost 3 years and I'm still in freaking first year of first degree. I covered all my first year subjects and I'm afraid I exhausted my semesters so yeah, I'm very much worried about that.

But of course, I tried my best, albeit so many things happened not according to my plans this semester so let's hope this semester turned out okay and there's gonna be a post on Design 2 within a month time. :)

Until then, take care.

Hello, 2014!

So, here we are. At the end of 2013.

How's your 2013? For me, it's a total roller-coaster. I was in deep situation early this year and things got a little bit better only in June onwards.

Then starting September, so many stuffs happened. I could barely keep up with people around me.

All summed up in one word, studio. Okay 2 words. Design Studio.

This semester is kinda tough, plus I had to adjust my schedule with ArQuinces and XaVIans as I'm taking subjects with both batches. Yep, it's real crazy sometimes.

It's been about 3 years I spent in this campus and things progress rather slowly. But what's the rush, right? Better late than never.

So how about 2014? I don't know about you guys but I'm expecting a lot of things and most of them involving hard work.

But things that is going to be the highlight of next year would be one, Design Studio 2 and 3. Two, I need to finish up my driving lessons. Three, oversea trip with a friend.

There are other things I want to accomplish in 2014. Both academically and personally.

... and I guess there will be new things that I will be talking about more often here in this blog in the near future.

New Year Resolution? Hmm... I decided to go with last year's. Cause so far I only accomplished some of them while there are other things I haven't even started yet. I promise myself to work harder for one thing.

Anyway, I just hope things will go nice and smooth for next year and hopefully, I can finally start looking for that one thing that can help me surviving in this uni life.

Sorry for this quick lazy post as I just finished my exam. :D

See you guys next post.

Typical First Week.

So I heard the Design Studio was postponed due to the First Year's bai'ah (Promise) session today. Ah, I remember when I took my oath. I was the only who's sitting while others are required to stand up. Haha That's another day's story.

So I just decided to clear out all my fees, with additional of RM12.50 to my hostel fee (Thank God we don't have to register our electrical appliances anymore!) and went to KAED Office to register the remaining 2 subjects. Then, I just head back to my mahallah and continue unpacking my stuffs.

That was on Monday. On Tuesday, I went to my Architectural Graphics studio and meet Dr. Zaiton who just got back from Rome after 2 years. Listening to her experiences is definitely making you wanna go there like now, now.

On Wednesday, I had my first Building Services 1 class, taught by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Raza. I'm definitely not happy with this, due to last semester's experience with History and Theory of Architecture 2. But then, all we can do is pray hard and study well, right?

Yesterday, I had my first Environmental Science and System 2 class, taught by our beloved newly-appointed Deputy Dean Academic Affair, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noor Aziah. Like before, ESS 2 is going to be amazing. She issued out the briefing for our assignments, that's need to be submitted after mid-sem break. Sigh~

As for today, we had the Design Studio session from the morning until lunch and continued from 2 to 4 p.m.. But only for today as starting next week, Friday's session will be only in the morning. First Minor Project has been issued and as for that, we gonna start with a group task. I'll post on that later. Oh, no session for this upcoming Monday. Cause it's holiday, baby! Hoyeah!

So, that's a wrap for this week. I'll see you guys on the next blogpost.

A New Academic Year Has Begun

First of all,

When I think about it, it's been over 2 years since I'm in this architecture field. Though I still haven't advance to second year due to 2 subjects, I think I'm starting to settle myself in this field.

What's the difference between then and now? One of the things would be I am not so clueless when I talked to my parents about building constructions. At least I get like 30% compared to before.

I started to sketch in my free times as well. It just happened. I hope I can really stick with this new thing cause heck, I'm gonna need it like for the rest of my life.

So what are my expectations this semester? I just hope I can pass with at least B in my Architectural Design this semester. If not, well. I don't know if I can survive another blow of extending another semester.

Though it's normal to extend few semesters in our department, I just want to get over this phase of my life so badly.

Sure, learning in this great (really?) institution is awesome but now I really have to move on with different kind of life. Seeing my friends and one year juniors graduating this semester makes me depressed.

I know that I don't have to feel that way because everyone has their own pace going through university lives but damn it I just can't lie to myself that I'm not even slightly envy with them.

But of course, those are the lame voices in my head.

Cause in reality, I am cool with everything I have right now. Though I'm gonna spend half of the rest of my life in here with the new batch, with the possibility of doing heritage studies with them, while other half with ArQuinces, I think I'm gonna be okay.

Let's all pray that we all can go through this semester safely.

Seriously laughing out loud right now.

Anyway, this probably my last summer vacation so....

I'll see you guys in September!

Adious!

2 Weeks and I'm Bored.

Yesterday, I found out that there's clashed between the schedules of subjects I have been taking and the result of that is I have to choose between Structures I and Islamic Worldview.

.... As the process of adding the Islamic Worldview subject was just really crazy and almost made me wanna cry in the middle of the campus the other day plus it's really difficult to register that subject via online, and as Structures I is offered every semester, I decided to let go Structures I.

Hence, I merely taking three subjects this semester. Sigh~

I guess, I have to make use of my time to study harder and practice my drawing skills.

I've been looking for material the past few days and I don't know whether this sounds good or just weird, I've also been trying to find something that I can't really describe in words as for now.

It might be a thing. Or maybe a person.

That can make me myself again.

I guess I'm just really down because of not being able to continue design studio with my friends.

Why does this happen to me?

I Am Who I Am

When I was 16, I literally just go with what's been decided for me. I went for Biology.

When I was 18, it's natural for me to pursue Biological Science as I did better in Biology compared to Physics. So I changed from Engineering Department to Biological Science Department.

But at the end of my first year, I was considering to change into Law as I found Biological Science isn't interesting as I thought it would be. But then, I just followed my lecturers advice to finish what I had started.

Throughout these years, I had an AED roommate.

When I was 20, I went on with pursuing Biomedical Science as I already half-heartedly did Foundation in Biological Science.

… Then I found something and without realizing it, I have a change in my heart.

.... and at that moment I think I fell in love with it. But because of that, I received an ultimatum from my parents so I just went on until I reached my second year...

Then when I was 23, reality hit me.

Things happened for reasons. Blah. Blah. Blah.

Today, when I think of it. True, it's been a long road and sometimes, I feel like just want to quit as it's undeniable that I'm tired of this life. As I've been stuck with this phase while other people have already moved on with their lives.

Feels like I have lived 100 years.

After what happened during the previous semester, people asked me questions like…

"… are you sure you want to continue?" or

"… do you have second thought about this whole architecture thing?" even

"… you didn't planning on changing course, right?"

Surprisingly, even to myself. The answer to all these questions and the like, no.

I won't give up. I know I have chose a difficult path to walk on but no.
I won't give it up. …. and most importantly, I don't give a damn about you bloodsuckers, losers saying awful things about me.

Cause I am who I am. I have my own pace.

You won't understand what I have gone through in order to stand here today.

Well, some of you did understand.

But to you people, who're with shallow perceptions on me, just get away.

Find something else to talk about.

Cause you know what? I don't give a damn to people who don't give a damn about me.

End of statement.

Just Wanna Get Away

Since the upcoming weekend is going to be holiday, some of my friends decided either to go back or planned to go somewhere, before getting caught in the hectic life of architecture students week after this.

Hence, me, Mimi and Syamil went to Aeon Wangsa Maju to go for a little shopping and most definitely we all want to get something to nice to eat. First week but I'm bored with campus cafe already!

The moment we arrived, we're all hungry so... Kenny Rogers it is!

While waiting for our food... We did some 3-seconds-poses =D

One!

Two!

Three! LOL love this one! :B
After waiting for like 10 minutes... Tada!

Mine is a Quarter Black Pepper Chicken, with mashed potato and Supreme Salad on the side.
Love the salad!

Chocolate Muffin for Syamil, Banana for Mimi and mine is Mocha flavoured. One of the reason why I love Kenny Roger's! Homemade muffin!
Then, went around the upper level to get some stuffs from Guardian - these things never enough! and then we went to Lovely Lace.

I love lavender! The Reed diffuser is definitely the right choice to buy especially since I'm living in 'no-candles' zone - our beloved mahallah. The Fragrance sachet can be placed in our wardrobe or any closed space. Totally give you a refreshed every time you open your closet!

I was thinking to go to my big bro's place tomorrow to see my beloved nephew, Adam. So, until then, I'll see you guys on next post!

Ciao!

Welcome to Semester II, 2012/2013

Up until today, I've attended several classes. Some are already registered, but some are still on the way to be registered as the schedule just chaotic right now. So, hopefully everything will be settled by tomorrow as tomorrow is also the last day to register subjects.

Today I have no class in the morning though I supposed to attend Islamic Worldview but fortunately it was cancelled. In the evening, I had Structures 1 with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abu Eusuf and so far I gotta say. He's old school, man!

We supposed to have replacement lecture for History but since the time was clashed with Structures, I have to see Dr. Ali Raza tomorrow.

First week, well. Not so much as I don't have studio.

I'm planning to do some drawing and sketching session later. Will upload here soon. Well, it won't be pleasing your eyes but what more can I say. I'm still learning.

Alright, I have to wake up early tomorrow to see Asst. Dr. Aida, my Building Construction and Materials 2 lecturer to get her stamp as she didn't stamp my Adjustment Course form yesterday.

Hope the finalized schedule will turn out better as I desperately need to take at least 12 credit hours this semester.

Signing out,
E

Mama

Okay. Okay. I can't wait to write a post about this movie!

So me, Mimi, Syira, Syamil and Omar went to Pavilion KL, right after our class by taking RapidKL LRT to KLCC and walk along the tunnel and closed walkways that connect the Golden Triangle.

We arrived at Pavilion KL at 6.15 p.m., rushed towards the theatre as the movie started at 6.30 p.m..

The starting of the movie was a bit slow but of course the montages of the little girls' drawing was kind of amusing in a way.

About the movie, I really love the graphic. The moment when the ghost turned back into her original self for few seconds was nice.

The whole movie is all about motherhood. For someone who's yearning for children but cannot, the case of Annabel, and not wanting to let go for the case of Edith, truly amazing.

To those teenagers or any one in general who abandoned their babies should really watch this movie!!!

For me it was just a little bit scary. The elements of surprise throughout the movie is kind of awesome. A friend of mine, no need to mention here, screamed at some part of the movie. Hehe. Guess horror movies aren't everyone's thing.

Right after the movie, we're all hungry (duh) so we decided to go to the Food Court at the LG floor. Me and Mimi went for Korean cuisine at Sam-Sam Restaurant.

The Japchae is so nice! The way the sesame seed oil mix with the sauce is awesome! Just melt in my mouth!

Me and Mimi shared this one. These taste nice. To balance the taste, have some cabbage on the side. That's wise. :)

While eating we tell each other's story, on supernatural of course. Hehe

Before walking back to KLCC, we stopped by at Guardian to pick up some toiletries and head back to campus right after. I was so exhausted by the time we arrived.

All righty. It's time to hit the sack. I'll see you guys on next entry.

First Week. Huh.

Well, it's been 2 days since the semester started so what more can I say.

Seeing the gang for the first time after the break, I don't know if it's just me, well. I really can sense a bit of awkwardness among the four of them.

Maybe not all people are like me who always think that nothing change even after not meeting each other for more than a month. Well, that's who I am.

But of course, there's probably a reason behind all that. Something. What is it I wonder.

Did something happened? Without me knowing?

Anyway, I really hope this semester gonna turn out well. Cause last semester... I don't want to talk about it.

What's more important right now is for me to keep on moving forward.

Alright. That's all. See you guys next entry.

Ciao!

Hello, KL!

So the break is over.

Hence, here I am. Sitting alone in a corner of McD at KLIA LCC Terminal, as Starbucks is closed from 2 to 4 a.m.

My flight was at 10.40 p.m. and I safely arrived at 1.05 a.m.. 5 minutes earlier than scheduled.

Thought I was gonna hang out at Starbucks but they're closed. So I just got my Caramel Macchiato and came here. I'm still full from the assorted sandwich I had just now so I just ordered McChicken. But I only ate the fries though. The burger has to wait.

Basically I'm waiting for the 6 o'clock SkyBus as I bought the ticket online. So yeah. Let's just wait for another 2 hours.

Today is going to be the registration for mahallah. Hopefully it'll go smooth as things can get really ugly if I were to be transferred to another room.

So the plan is to settle everything this very morning and go back to my big bro's apartment to give him stuffs from home.

Oh. I forgot.

Honestly, I don't even know whether to be excited or not. All I know are my subjects waiting for me to be registered in, the possibility of not being able to take tudio this semester and etc. etc.

Pray hard for me, guys!

I'll see you guys next post.

Ciao!

Things To Consider

To be perfectly honest, I am aware of my lack of skills when it comes to drawing.

What can I say. It's only been a year since I started to draw. Of course I have a LOT to improve. Plus, I came from medical background.

Well, let's not contemplate with the past.

Maybe I was excellent back then but let's face the reality right now.

It's been almost a year since I ventured this whole new world of architecture.

It was hard. Really hard sometimes. Friends are there of course but it all boils down to what I have done so far.

So, I guess there's no other way.

I guess I have to work some more on my drawing skills and hence, no studio this upcoming semester.

I know. I know. But there's no other way in order for me to stay in this department.

For all I know, I have no second thoughts regarding this whole architecture thing.

It's either this or nothing.

So, I have to work harder next semester.

I know I have to.

Of Skating, Les Miserables and Flying!

It was decided that after we submitted our Architectural Graphics compiled works, we're going to the Sunway Pyramid to skate.

.... and by the time we were done with submission was around 5 o'clock. But the beauty of it is we still going anyway.

We arrived at Sunway Pyramid sometime around 6.30 p.m. after a horrible ride on a run-down bus (which is my fault, plus there's no cab at that time), we got off somewhere, took separate cabs to the mall.

Since I'm flying tomorrow I decided not to join them. Who wants to walk around the huge airport with sore arms and legs? Assuming I'm going to fall every 5 seconds, which is for sure.

So, I just stood somewhere close and took pictures... :D

Syamilian!!

Mission accomplished!!
We head towards the cinema to get movie tickets, Les Miserables and as the movie's showtime was at 10.45 p.m., we head down to Carl's Jr. to get dinner.

Aww!!! Never thought we could see that again! Bromance 2.0!

Syamil! Open your eyes, ah!

First group photo. Yep. This is it.

I got to say. The diner is awesome! Definitely gonna come and visit next time we're here. We can even study while getting dirty (while eating, duh) here!

Before we head towards the cinema, me, Mimi and Syira went for a little karaoke time at K-Box. It's the first time for me so it's rather funny. The song collection was a bit outdated but we didn't care. Haha

Les Miserables. Where to start. Of course, it goes without saying that musical ain't everyone's thing. Yes, papa. I know you agree with me.

I know about French Revolution for a bit but this movie just I don't know what words to use in order to describe it.

Love, hardship, sacrifice, distance, truth, law, dilemma, I could go on and on as this movie is all wrap in one. The movie set is beyond awesomeness with all the details and colours, and as we're watching it in the cinema, we got the chance to catch every attractive moment on the big screen.

I think it's safe to say that watching that movie is like watching the montages of our moments for the past 4 months. Studio, design, written exams, not forgetting friendships, complications, challenges, negativity, motivation, and most importantly, perseverance.

When Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) did a number on French Revolution once for audition for the lead in national, I think it was in Glee season 2, I really think it was great. But when Eponine (Samantha Barks) did that number, I was breathless. ... and somehow makes me think that I can relate to her. Okay, let's not get off topic here.

Anyway, I won't be surprise to see the cast of this movie nominated in the upcoming Golden Globe Awards cause overall, the movie is just awesome. Beyond awesomeness.

After the movie, we took a cab to KL Sentral and we realized that it was already 2 in the morning.

We decided to catch the first train to Gombak which was at 6.05 a.m. so in order to kill some time, we did 'Spin the Bottle' at McDonald. Though you guys might have your own version of that game, no. It wasn't like any of that. It's our own version. But what more can I say, cause what's been said at McD, stays at McD. Hehe

Arrived in campus at almost 7, we went back to our respective mahallahs and I slept for almost 2 hours before getting up and cleaned the whole room within 3 hours as I need to be at the airport at least before 3 p.m. Thank God as my big bro came to pick me up and sent me to the airport.

.... and here I am, sitting at Starbucks, half an hour before boarding time, thinking about what happened the past 24 hours.

I really hope I can come back to KL with the same feelings I have today and see my fellow mates before continuing my journey as an architecture student at KAED, IIUM next semester.

Happy New Year 2013!

Oh, well. I have Building Construction and Material 1 paper tomorrow so goodbye New Year celebration.

Anyway, I hope all is well this year around. Hope I can get to second year smoothly with good CGPA and all. Hope my friends are happy no matter where they are... To those are getting married this year, I wish you guys are blessed with happiness and to those are like me, still crawling (literally) on this roads of getting one single scroll, I pray that we all will be given strength to walk on this path....

Let the past be in the past, as a Leo baby, yes. I have the tendency to keep looking back and wonder what could be changed and whatnot.

But today, according to one of my 25 new year resolutions, I decided to move on. No more yesterday. What remains are memories.

This year, the theme is 'Dream'. So, let's work hard to achieve our dreams.

Thursday, December 27, 2012

Wow. It's the end of the Semester!

Already!!!!!

I don't know what happened but 14 weeks really had passed by and soon 2012 will be gone too and what remains are nothing but memories.

Anyway, here I am sitting at some corner of a Starbucks cafe, working on my 2013 resolutions.

As for next year, I'm working a list of 25 things I need to improve. That's a long list for sure. But it's important. At least for me.

Aside from that, I'm gonna have 2 written exams, History and Theory of Architecture 1 will be on 29th of December and Building Construction and Material 1 will be on 2nd of January. Wish me luck on that. I really need to balance my CGPA cause I know I'm not doing well in my Architectural Design and Architectural Graphics.

Oh, 2 nights ago I watched Istanbul Aku Datang, starring Lisa Surihani, Shah Indrawan, and Beto Kusyairi. I'm a big fan of comedy romantic and of course Rafidah Abdullah - all 3R girls Lina and Tini as well. Oh, not forgetting Ngai Yuen. Wait, was it Melissa Maureen? I'm not sure.

Overall, the movie is... well, I have to admit, I don't watch Malay movies (except novel-based Lagenda Budak Setan, cause the cinematographer is awesome), okay I guess. Well, who doesn't love Istanbul? I love it so much! Skyfall had a scene in there. Taken 2 as well. So the setting is great for me. Plus Lisa's outfits throughout the movie is sweet. I love pastel colours and her dresses and with those heels! The scene where Lisa was running down the hill is definitely challenging part.

Beto's acting is well, how do I put this. He's effortless in the movie. Sweet and kind. His punch line "Jangan biadap!" which means don't be rude, is definitely something. haha the Asam Laksa scene! I laughed so hard.

So yeah, love the two in this movie. As for Shah Indrawan a.k.a. Tomok. Hmm. At first his acting is a bit stiff. Not much of facial expression. I don't know whether he was supposed to act like that but in my opinion his character needed to be explored more. (Like saying to myself regarding my design.)

All in all, I'd give 3.5 out 5 stars.

All right, I had to get back to my History revision. See you guys next entry!

V

P.S.: during the holiday, I'm gonna post some stuffs about what had happened throughout this semester. Some photos and other things.

Bearing with...

... Oh, bearing here refers to measuring one point to another using degrees, minutes and seconds. I'm talking about one of the topic discussed in Land Surveying subjects.

So yeah. Though I already took this subject last semester, I went along with Mimi, Syira and 2 other bros who are in the same group, Firdaus and the guy from Egypt, Ahmed Maged.

I don't have class in the evening so I guess why not?

We decided to do the bearing at in front of KAED building. It was really hot but we had fun! Sounds cliche but we really did. :)

Here's some photos...

During the briefing. The poles are used to mark the points.

Girls! Focus, will ya?

Ahmed looks like some kung fu master with that. :p

When we're done we went to Tastebuds for lunch. At 4 p.m. I think. But we all were starving one thing for sure.

Aight. That's all. Enjoy your weekend. I won't be. T_T

Our First Outing

This is where I'm going to introduce my studio mates.

Basically, today we just dropped everything right after the studio, and after I submitted my History assignment on Babylonian Hanging Garden, we gathered at the Bus Stop #3, the one in front of Engineering Faculty a.k.a Kulliyyah of Engineering.

After waiting for like almost half an hour, then the T231 bus came. And guess what? Someone had her first ride on the bus today.

Haha. Hide behind that. :p This is Mimi. She loves pink and shopping. What else? Hmm... She made me remember how I used to love wearing shawls.

From left, Syira, Syamil, and Oaky. Oh, I mean Omar Ahmed Omar Alkhulaqi.
Syira, she's from Kuantan and my only companion on this tough road as iPhone users. Oh, there was this once when we went out shopping at Forever 21, I feel like wanna dress her up like a Barbie doll. muahaha

Syamil is the only one among us who graduated from CFS (I mean AED, CFS IIUM), my section mate. He's shy during the first 3 weeks we've known each other and after that, he just... I don't know how to put this. Let's just say he became more comfortable around us. There was a time when I thought he's actually an introvert. But I was wrong. Dead wrong.

Omar. A poet, loves black, plays guitar, and an easygoing person. Seems to me he's friendly to everyone. He digs on gothic. Real gothic. And oh, he loves Wuthering Height. That is just. Wow. I never thought I could find someone who actually read that book apart from my best friend.

This was where we were walking around at in front of Suria KLCC. Oh, The second from in front, that's Syafiqah. Like Syira, she's also a diploma holder. She's a serious person but yeah, we all get crazy sometimes. Well, at least I did. LOL

Honestly? I don't even remember what are these 2 dorks are talking about. haha

Of course, the famous Asian pose. Peace!

Aww... :D

One last shot of this awesome structure...

While we were at Nike Store...

Yep! Nasi minyak coming soon. hehe

Oh, definitely. :D

Wow. That's just. Wow. Bieber? Seriously Bieber? hehe

Before watching the movie... There's just something wrong with the huge white monster.

Well, if you notice. Please feel free not to. LOL

So yeah... after the movie, we all went back to campus but before we head back to our respective mahallahs...

I know. I know. But someone's hungry. LOL

Alright.. I guess that's all for this one. I'll see you guys on next post.

Ciao!
