Hello, Roomie!

Last month marks the beginning of my second year living in this Sharing House and just last week, a colleague of mine decided to live with me and the reason why she gave up her place which literally 30 steps away from our office due to the building is having a major renovation. With all the noise throughout the day and night, her panda eyes is less than a concern compared to the hygiene and security issues with third of the building had been teared open. With that, after leaving my university days for more than 3 years, I'm having a roommate again and I welcome her with arms wide open.

When it comes to transportation, we usually take bus in the morning and went back by UBER or Grab; ride-hailing services. As we both usually take heavy food during the day, we don't cook for dinner though I actually already bought extra plates and mugs for her but it's okay as we do use them during weekends.

I have to say that it's gonna take awhile for me to get used to having someone in my room as I usually hang out at cafe after work while she went straight home.We totally lead different kind of lives and as I already know her as we work together the past year, she's pretty much the same in the office and while at home. She's chilled and relax. It's sort of amazing to me how she's not for lack of a better word, nosy unlike my previous roommates (oh, that exclude a Japanese roommate I once have in first year). No matter how late the time I arrived home, she didn't say anything. Or how I binge-watch drama deep into the night and feeling sleepy throughout the next day.

All in all, things are rather fine when it comes to us living together. We totally have nothing in common but we sure have love for cute, sushi-looking Big Apple doughnuts. Though it's just our first few weeks, I'm pretty sure it'll be okay for the upcoming months. Maybe even years?

I'll catch up with you guys next time!

6 Weeks In

So it's been about a month and a half since I moved into this Sharing House. Yep. That's what I call the house that I'm renting currently. Overall, I find my housemates are really into their own routines as some of them have been living in the house for about 5 years.

While the others have been living for about 2 to 3 years but I don't really know about them much as I never actually get to sit with them and chat.

Then there are the new ones like me who moved in about 2 weeks before me and these girls are always doing stuffs together. I tried to be among them for the first few weeks but I gave up recently. It's hard for me to intervene in their conversations as it always about them and most importantly, I don't have much in common with any of those girls.

I usually arrived around 6 in the evening at the house and I haven't started planning to cook dinner for myself yet so I usually just go up to my room right away, watching drama, shower and then off to bed like 9 p.m. haha I know! As someone who used to sleep like 2 in the morning, having to wake up early means I need to sleep early as I usually take some time to get up. But recently, I usually get up the latest at 6 a.m., be the first to shower, and getting dressed at 7 a.m. and off to work. I'm taking the bus most of the time as I don't want to drenched in my own sweat if I were to walk to the office in the morning.

I walked home most of the time but if I were to work extra hours, I usually get a ride home with my colleague or to somewhere in KK where I meet my parents for dinner. They'll send me home right after.

So that's pretty much my routine during the weekdays. It's beautifully boring I tell you. But still, I'm grateful to Allah and hopefully I can mend my parents' broken hearts bit by bit.

Sharing House 2.0

The last time I lived in a rental house was back in 2009.

As commuting to my work place is quite time-consuming with mum having to drive me 6 in the morning to avoid traffic and pick me up in the evening right after work, I figured it's better to just get a room to rent that isn't so far from the office.

So I went on Mudah.com and listed out like 10 possible places to rent and went for room hunting yesterday. The first place was Chanyai Villa in Likas. It's about 20 minutes walk from my office and it was a small studio apartment with 2 girls looking for a third roommate. The whole place was a mess and it's so hot in there. We went to the next location right after.

The next place is actually a double-story house in Taman Likas and from the look of it, all my neighbors probably have been living in that neighborhood for more than 30 years if not a third generation at least. The windows are made of old-fashioned grilled with wooden panels, the switches are yellowish, probably aged 20 years, there's even old air-condition on the wall...

But I decided to choose that place as it's only 15 minutes walk from the office and the house is actually quite nice. I haven't really meet my housemates yet so hopefully all of them are good people.

Hopefully.

New Semester, New Schedule, New Subjects, New This, New That... and New Home!

Flew back from Sabah on Thursday, stayed at my friend's room in IIUM Gombak Campus, went to Pavilion KL the next day, and I went straight back to campus. It's freaking exhausting!

Went to Pavilion to bring my MacBook back to EpiCentre Apple Reseller to check what's wrong with it as when I tried to start, there'll be this annoying bleeping sound that hurts my ear so much until I was about to smash it on the wall. Just kidding. Fortunately, as it still in warranty, I got a brand new 2 GB RAM... Nice service! (Actually, there's another customer who was complaining why there wasn't any change after she came last time for a service...). Hmm... I hope that doesn't happen to me!

On the way to Kuantan, the bus broke down in the middle of the road only after half an hour it took off. Thank God I managed to arrive safe and sound.

I went back to hostel first to take all my stuffs with the help from Shidah and later that evening, my new housemate, Fatin gave me a ride to my new home.

It's a double story house. My room located on the second floor and I got myself and Fatin the master bedroom. It's actually not that big but I'm not complaining. It's enough for the two of us. I guess. I started to unpack my things right away but then I realize I need to buy some stuffs first so we went to ECM. All of us were starving so we had our approximately 2 p.m.-lunch at KFC. After that we hit the Carrefour. I bought a study table, a chair, and some food stuffs.

I continued the unpacking mission but Fatin said we need to have our meeting regarding lots of issues upon this house. While we were in deep discussion, Fatin claimed that she heard something and saw a hand on the kitchen's windows. All of us were freaking out. I even had goosebumps. Gosh! We don't know what to do but then look at the kitchen area again and again. There were nothing. So we distracted ourselves talking some more until we heard another sound. Kak Sarah went to check in their bathroom and it's just the water dropping on the sink. Wow. When you are scared and a bit panic, your senses just getting sharper.

So we decided to stop the meeting and get ready for sleep. Everybody took their mattresses and pillows - not forgetting their teddies, to my room and put aside all my stuffs. Therefore here we all are, the 7 girls of this house, sleeping together in this room. It really feels like slumber party right now.

I hope everything will be fine here. I pray hard for us to be safe until the last day we stay in this house. Amin.

Oka, people. Good night! Owh... I mean good morning!
