Rasa Ingin Tahu?

Apakah dia berasa aku mengekorinya seperti orang gila?

Pelik. Sungguh pelik.

Mungkin.

Looking Back

I have to admit, after living for about 8 years far from my family, I feel like as I'm on the edge whenever someone asked me about my feelings all this time.

Truth is, I've always want to come home and just live a simple life.

Staying at home, being just a regular kampung girl. Gathering with some girls laughing with me at malam badak on Saturday nights and having occasional shopping spree at KK while looking forward to social gatherings in the village.

... I'm not saying that's all what typical village girls are doing but... I was like that.. at least in my teenage years.

It's just that during those times, I feel so carefree and.. happy.

I've noticed that whenever I come home, some of my relatives were like talking about my fashion sense and whatnot... saying I should have been wearing this and that... instead of this and that... pointing out why I don't even wear makeups... sigh. I don't know that living in KL means I have to be on pointy stilettos, wearing the latest fashion item, know where the local celebs hanging out and put on makeups while shopping for kitchen supplies. Well, I know. Sounds exaggerating, at least the last part.

I started living in KL when I was just turning 18 and back then I feel I'm going to finish my studies like in just few years and honestly, I'm still not sure whether I'm on the right track or not.

Yep, I feel lost.

Architectural Design 2: Minor Project 1

For the first minor project, it's about Vernacular architecture so we're required to do some research on Maldives vernacular architecture (hence previous post) for our group of 18 students so about 3 weeks ago we had presentation together with our precedent studies on local Malaysian architect for Minor Project 2.

but to day I'm going to share the first minor project and post the second one later. :)

A poster to sum up all the things we found out.

We even come up with a model of that house.

Other groups' posters.

After presentation, we had the open critique session with the 8 lecturers so it got really ugly I have to tell you.

But that's what being in architecture school all about. Being trained to become an architect ain't an easy thing so got punched in the face with those nasty comments are good thing. I sincerely hope.

So many things need to be reconsidered for our next assignment, the beginning of our major project so I hope it's better for me to document some stuffs here so I can recall what I need to include for our next presentation which is the Site Analysis.

let's hope and work for the best.

Until then, take care.

Trip to Labuan

Honestly.... I haven't transferred the photos that I took using my Nikon D5100 so yeah. For now these are the ones that I can share with you guys. LOL

Above photos are basically the ones that I took using my iPhone while we're on the huge ferry as we're leaving the island.

I've been on the island for merely 2 days and one night, so there are not much I can say about this trip other than shopping on perfumes and chocolates. Believe me, the prices are crazy! I bought my Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina EDT and EDP miniatures for merely RM80! Miniatures aren't meant to be sold but I was so tempted to get them as it's great for travelling.

So yeah, I'll update some more when I transferred those photos into my all-in-one later.

Until then, take care!

Maldives' Interesting Buildings

The National Library of the Republic of Maldives was founded on 12th July 1945 as the "State Library" of the Maldives by Ameer Mohamed Amin Didi, then the Head of the Department of Education. The Library was renamed "Majeedi Library" in 1948 after one of the most popular statesmen of the Maldives, Ameer Abdul Majeed Didi.

In the climate of development and modernization that has prevailed since 1978 the library was named "National Library" by His Excellency President Mr. Maumoon Abdul Gayoom on 1st June 1982 .

Established on the National Day of the Maldives, the first National Museum of the country was opened on November 11, 1952, by the Prime Minister at the time, Mohamed Amin Didi.

With the purpose of preserving history and calling upon a sense of patriotism among the people, the building values a large collection of historical artifacts, ranging from stone objects to fragments of royal antiquities from the Buddhist era to the rule of Islamic monarchs.

The Islamic Centre (officially named Masjid-al-Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu Al Auzam) is an architectural landmark in Malé, Maldivesopened in 1984 by President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.
This centre acts as a major tourist attraction of Malé, because of its location near the main jetty of Malé and due to the beautiful architecture of the mosque. The magnificent golden dome of the mosque is also evident on the skyline of Malé. The shining golden dome of the mosque is a standout as are also the interior walls decorated with beautiful woodcarvings and Arabic calligraphy.

The Grand Friday Mosque

The grand mosque with its dominant golden dome and the slender Minaret decorate the façade of Male'. It can accommodate over five thousand worshippers at a time. Nearly all visitors to Male' take time to visit this magnificent landmark.

Starbucks Malaysia Double Rewards

Hey, guys! It's been awhile since I last post in here so though it's a little late to say this, Happy New Year 2014!!

... It maybe a little late according to Gregorian calendar but tomorrow is a new year for all those people that follow Chinese calendar. So Happy Chinese New Year! :D

Being in a country with multi-cultural communities, we Malaysian celebrate more than one celebration so Starbucks Malaysia has decided to reward its customers with Double Rewards this Chinese New Year.

Just like what being stated above, buy 1 beverage but instead of getting 1 point for each Grande (or above) beverage  purchase, you'll get 2 points hence bringing you one extra point before getting the Exclusive Starbucks Malaysia Planner.

Please know that this is only for Starbucks Planner Reward Points program so I take it as the points for Free 11th Drink will not be affected.

From what I read in Starbucks MY Official Facebook page, some people take it as Starbucks is being unfair to those people that earned the planner by collecting 15 points including 3 points earned by buying seasonal drinks which are usually more expensive than your usual Americanos.

Well, I guess yeah. I'm one of those who did but nah. I don't see it that way. Instead, this is an opportunity to get another planner. Hehe It's exclusive so having one is awesome but having 2 is awesome-r. LOL

I've been a big fan of Starbucks since 2009 and along the way I've tried at least all of their Frappucinos. My favourite would be Caramel Frappucino and to add a little twist to it, I sometimes add crushed Almond Biscotti in it. :D

Anyway, I guess that's all I want to share with you guys today and if you guys wanna know what are other drinks that I love fron Starbucks, check out my second Instagram account under username ivoryandbrown .

Until next time, au revoir!

P.S.: What's your favourite Starbucks beverage? Do share!

University Breaks and Future Plans

Finally I'm done with examinations and right now I'm in the middle of packing for holiday! :D

New Year was celebrated in exam hall so I guess I'm gonna do some sort of delayed celebrations with family members at home. hehe

Anyway, I honestly don't really know what sort of things I'm going to do for this upcoming break as I'm still nervous about whether I survived my second attempt in Architectural Design 1 (studio) subject.

My parents already decided on our trips to Kuching, Sarawak for about a week I think 2 days after I'm back in KK later and of course we're gonna go to visit my bro and our lil' Adam so that's included.

other than that, I'm pretty sure my schedule is opened without anything to do during the break.

I'm thinking of taking some sort of photography class but I have no damn clue where I should be going for it. Sigh.

Future plans.

Like I said above, whether I'm going to survived firs or not is still I'm unsure about but right now I have 2 options.

If I really did survived the subject, I guess proceeding to Design 2 will be hassle-free and I'll be sticking to my current study plans.

but if I didn't... I guess it's time to wake up and find a new path. it's been almost 3 years and I'm still in freaking first year of first degree. I covered all my first year subjects and I'm afraid I exhausted my semesters so yeah, I'm very much worried about that.

But of course, I tried my best, albeit so many things happened not according to my plans this semester so let's hope this semester turned out okay and there's gonna be a post on Design 2 within a month time. :)

Until then, take care.
